SeaShare Receives Major Grant from the Walmart Foundation
SeaShare was recently awarded a generous grant from the Walmart Foundation State Giving Program to bring more seafood to food banks in Washington.
This grant will go a long way in ensuring we can meet our goal to donate at least one million servings of seafood to food banks and feeding centers in our home state in 2016.
The Walmart Foundation meets the needs of the under-served by directing charitable giving toward three core focus areas: opportunity, sustainability, and community.
Walmart's State Giving Program invests in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. The Walmart Foundation has a State Advisory Council in each state, made up of Walmart associates representing local communities. Each Council helps identify local needs within its state, reviews applications, and makes funding recommendations to the Walmart Foundation. Globally, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation gave $1.4 billion in cash and in-kind contributions in 2015.
