SeaShare is pleased to announce that Gerrie Thomas, Vice President of Membership and Training for the National Fisheries Institute (NFI), was recently elected to the SeaShare Board of Directors.

“This is a group that has evolved from a novel concept about valuing every part of the catch, to a well-oiled hunger relief team focused on valuing every part of the community through nutrition. It is an honor to join SeaShare in that vital mission,” said Thomas.

Thomas joins the SeaShare board with 19 years experience at NFI, where she oversees member recruitment and retention strategies. Gerrie works with members and across organizations and teams to yield long-term, successful results. Thomas is in charge of NFI’s Future Leader program, which for more than two decades has trained up-and-coming seafood professionals on all aspects of the seafood industry.

Thomas, a U.S. Army veteran, holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Northern Michigan University. Thomas and her husband Richard serve on the Parent’s Council at James Madison University, where one of her two sons is a student and plays football. Thomas enjoys all things sports and is an official VHSL clock operator for both football and basketball. She resides with her husband in Ashburn, VA.
