E&E Foods Receives Top Donor Award

Posted on April 30, 2015

SeaShare board member John Garner presented E&E Foods with our Top Donor award yesterday at a luncheon at E&E Foods in Seattle. Randy Patrick and Tab Goto were on hand to receive the award. E&E Foods has been a strategic partner with SeaShare for several years. They provide discounted processing and packaging services, and they donate financially. Last year alone E&E Foods processed over 450,000 lbs of salmon and halibut for Seashare, taking headed and gutted fish and cutting them into beautiful steak portions. The steaks were then water glazed and packed in sleeves and cases for transport to food banks across the nation and in Alaska.

Hunger in America

Posted on April 15, 2015

For many, it is easy to take food for granted. It is easily accessible, and you have a choice of fresh and healthy ingredients. For at least 49 million Americans, this is not their reality. For reasons such as underemployment, unemployment, low wages, or illness many Americans rely on food banks and feeding centers to access food. SeaShare actively works with the Feeding America network to provide the healthiest of foods, seafood, to affiliated food banks.

This month SeaShare welcomes Tom Enlow to our Board of Directors. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Tom was educated at Brigham Young and Seattle Pacific University to teach secondary education. In 1999, Tom was assigned to direct UniSea's Hospitality Division by managing the operations of the Grand Aleutian Hotel and the Harbor View Inn and their associated food, beverage, and sales outlets. In 2013 Tom was promoted to Executive Vice President of UniSea where he works closely with the Directors and Managers of UniSea's Dutch Harbor Operations. In January of 2015 Tom was promoted to President CEO of UniSea following the sudden and unexpected passing of UniSea CEO Terry Shaff who was a longtime Director and supporter of SeaShare.
