Privacy Policy

SeaShare values your participation and support and we are committed to protecting our visitor and donor privacy.

SeaShare will not trade, share, sell, exchange or rent visitor and donor personal information (address, email, phone number, or any other identifying information) with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. We will not divulge personal information to any other organization or individual other than those necessary to transact, fulfill and or account for online and offline donations. SeaShare uses a secure third party to process online monetary donations. We do not see or store your credit card information at SeaShare.

SeaShare does not share visitor and donor personal information with telemarketing centers. SeaShare does not use telephone marketing to solicit funds. We will only use a donor phone number if we need to verify information or occasionally to thank you for your contribution, ask for your opinion, or invite you to a special event.

When visitors and donors visit SeaShare’s website, SeaShare collects some non-identifying basic information from server logs. This may include total number of visitors, pages viewed, type of browser, type of operating system, domain name of internet service provider and frequently searched words. SeaShare uses non-identifying basic information (aggregate data) to analyze site usage and to improve the content and design of the site. On occasion, SeaShare may share aggregate data with sponsors, partners and other third-party vendors to encourage fundraising.

SeaShare uses personally identifiable information donors provide to respond to your questions or comments, to protect the security or integrity of the site and to protect against legal liability. We list foundation and corporate donors that contribute $1,000 or more on our website. Personal donations are not listed.

SeaShare may disclose to third parties aggregate statistics about donations and volunteers (e.g., total number of donors, total amount of donations for specific periods, average gift size, number of volunteers, etc.). These statistics will not include any personally identifying information.

SeaShare will not use donor personal information in any way other than described in this policy. SeaShare requires employees, agents and contractors who have access to donor personal information to protect information consistent with this Privacy Policy.

If visitors and donors prefer not to receive any email correspondence from us, please click unsubscribe on our e-newsletter or send an email to info@seashare.org. We do like to send your receipts and thank yous via email whenever possible.

Security: For online donation processing, SeaShare utilizes a secure third party compliant with industry standards, firewalls, and encrypting. SeaShare does not see or store donor credit card numbers. While we do everything we can to protect donor data, use of this site and its services are at a donor’s own risk. SeaShare is not responsible for any damages or liabilities relating to such security failures. It is understood that unauthorized third parties may access data and communications, including e-mail, when communicated via the internet. Because SeaShare’s website includes links to other websites, SeaShare cannot ensure the privacy practices of other such sites.
